Swedish indie singer Lykke Li has recently won over our hearts (and iPods) with songs like “Little Bit” and “Get Some.” And did we mention she hails from our native Sweden? Sold.

  • We're In A Music Video!

It's one thing to see bottles of Kanon behind the bar at our favorite spots in NY and LA. Think extreme feelings of joy and pride every time a bartender grabs our bottle off the shelf to make a cocktail for someone. Today we got to feel that again just by sitting in front of our computers (yes, sometimes we do normal work).

For those of you who are on the pulse of music, you probably already saw this morning's release of our FOK Lykke Li's latest music video for "Sadness is a Blessing." What could be better than adding another Lykke Li song to our playlist rotations? Well, how about spotting a bottle of Kanon making its musical debut alongside the Swedish songstress? We're no longer limiting ourselves to taking over one bar at a time. We're ready to conquer the big screen.

Check out Lykke Li's new vid, and of course, Kanon's cameo (at the 0:47 mark...not that we have it memorized or anything). Sadness might be a blessing, but a few shots of Kanon are equally so.

  • Cocktails with Lykke Li

We're often telling you this and that about how awesome our Kanon cocktails are. Those of you who've tried them know they're amazing. But what about the rest of you? Still need convincing? Well, we asked Lykke Li while she was in town to sit down for a drink with us and filmed it all. Here's what she has to say about us, our mixology, and how delicious it all is.

Last night was all about Lykke Li—after watching an awesome performance by the Swedish star at Le Poisson Rouge, we headed over to the Soho Grand Hotel for the official after-party. She DJed the hits, the drinks were flowing--Kanon cocktails, of course--and a good time was had by all. Check out all of our pictures from the night's festivites.

Months of anticipation came to fruition last night. Also, months of anticipation equals hurting this morning. But not so much pain that we can’t share some of the unequivocal awesomeness that went down in Sweden last evening. Stefanie’s Kanon cocktails were flowing, Lykke Li killed it on the 1s and 2s, the Shout Out Louds brought the house down, and all of our blogger friends and family had the Midsummer time of their lives. Here’s some of the madness captured by our very own madmen, Harry Beee and Fredrik Skogkvist. And remember, we’re bringing the Midsummer flavor Stateside for our 4th of July soiree in the Hamptons. Stay tuned and don’t sleep.

About our FOK: Photographer and FOK (Friend of Kanon) Fredrik Skogkvist began appreciating the art of imagery at a young age by spending hours at a local skate-park with a group of friends. Playing with light and angles, Skogkvist moved on to shoot for fashion mags and brands, as well as taking on the role of director in the world of film. He’s brought his skate punk origins to the world of high fashion and the result has been a gritty aesthetic that challenges definitions of high and low. And while we love his work, we love Fredrik’s lust for life and all that entails. Travel, women, food, drinks, and the photos that come out of his immersion in all of them. He’s quite the friend.
