Starting the new year with a kick-ass party is pretty much the only way we do it around here, and just last week, we provided the libations (and let's be honest, the fun) for The Elle Awards in Sweden. As the first international awards hosted by the magazine, it brought out 800 of the biggest fashion names in Sweden as well as international guests – including supermodel Caroline Winberg and singer Elin Lanto just to a name a couple.

If you've ever been to the Grand Hotel Stockholm, you know the venue is breathtaking with glitzy chandeliers and gilded walls surrounding you at every turn, which is why we had to ensure the caliber of cocktails were unmatched for the night's event. Thus, guests were treated to four different drinks crafted exclusively for the Elle soiree – and we must say, they turned out pretty darn delicious. Think strawberries, basil and vodka in a jar – but that's just a small taste (for full recipes click here). Check out all the winners from the night below and browse through our favorite pictures from the event in the slide show.

We're not okay with throwing a party that's just okay. Average just isn't a word that's in our vocab. Which is why we decided to go a little wild when it came to choosing a location for our latest Swedish adventure--the launch of Cheap Monday's new underwear line.

We hosted the party in Statens Bakteriologiska Laboratorium (aka the Government's Bacterilogical Laboratory), a former research facility just outside of Stockholm that was shut down in 1993 and has been empty ever since--mildly terrifying, incredibly cool. We took the creepy factor and ran with it, by turning the old cooling room for lab samples into our serving station, where Kanon shots were doled from our crazy-looking 1937 shot machines. To take it even further, the party's centerpiece was none other than a sick art installation by Antwerp artist Frederik Heyman, complete with lasers and smoke machines. Oh, and did we mention that all of the Kanon cocktails were glow-in-the-dark? Yeah, it was a party for the ages. Check it out for yourself.

When a brand describes their world and stores as “the strange Forgotten Forest, the bio-hazardous City of Oil and Steel or the magical Sea of Scallops”-- well, how can that not catch your attention? So when brand Monki opened their new flagship at the Gallerian in Stockholm we knew we had to be a part of it. A cool new store filled with all sorts of cool people? Well that’s a good time in and of itself. Add Kanon cocktails served in to-go cups (spilling is the number one party foul, people), the Monki style, and a bit of buzzed shopping, and we had ourselves another great night in Sweden. Here’s a look at the night.

While the month of fashion weeks in New York, London, Paris and Milan aren't even halfway completed, the always fashion-forward Swedes have been celebrating fashion since August. We helped toast the night away (and possibly encouraged some post-cocktail shopping) at Stockholm’s Fashion's Night Out earlier this summer at the Marc Jacobs store on Smålandsgatan 10. While drinking and shopping may not seem like the smartest pairing (for your wallet at least), Kanon was in full force amongst the fashionistas. Need proof? Well, let's just say we broke an unofficial record and served 750 cocktails during the hour and a half event. With a packed store of 200 or so, we’d say the Kanon cocktail is definitely on trend. Here’s a look at the night in photos.

We love New York, even with it’s sudden rash of natural disasters in the form of earthquake and pending hurricane, but every now and then we just need a (vodka-filled) taste of home! What happens when you put the fashion elite of Sweden on a rooftop terrace with loads of Kanon Vodka and a view of Stockholm City? Look and see. Elle Magazine and Cafe Magazine teamed up to sip cocktails and celebrate Stockholm Fashion Week with Sweden's finest designers, editors and fashion fiends. After carrying our 500 pound Kanon bar up six flights of stairs to the party (yes, we mean business), we were certainly ready for some libation, which came in the form of our "Herbal Verde." With everyone from Elle’s Stina Samolov and Café Magazine’s Daniel Lindström joining us, it's clear that this was the place to be. Check out the photos from the night and our recipe to make your own Herbal Verde at home.

    Herbal Verde

    Ingredients:

    1 1/2 oz Kanon vodka

    5 leaves of sage

    1 oz of pineapple juice

    2/3 oz lemon juice

    1/3 oz simple syrup

Shake all ingredients in a shaker, strain and serve with a garnish of sage.

We may or may not get slightly nostalgic every time Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros' "Home" comes on our Spotify. We just can't help but be reminded of our Swedish roots. So when Swedish brand Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair invited us along to celebrate their recent runway show, we jumped on board without hesitation. A packed house at Stockholm's Sven Harrys Konstmuseum (so packed in fact that even a few major bloggers had to stand in their tall stilettos to catch a glimpse) took in the show while sipping on Kanon cocktails. We were excited to meet up with friends both old and new – new being ones like Cafe Magazine's Daniel Lindström, and old –  running into our very own FOK, Yvan Rodic. Just in case you weren't all the way in Sweden to experience the event for yourself, we captured the whole night in pictures for you. If the photos above are any indication, Swedes are quite the stylish bunch. Wouldn't you agree?
