It's rare that we venture into the heart of Midtown after the sun sets, but we made a noteworthy exception last night to celebrate the opening of beloved Japanese clothing brand Uniqlo's newest flagship store – and might we add, the biggest one EVER. The purveyor of all things minimal hosted a hell of a shindig replete with twelve (yes, you read that correctly) Kanon bars and James Murphy behind the turntables, as well as a live performance from the one and only Santigold. With such a massive space and (again) twelve bars that kept the cocktails quickly flowing, it was hard to keep track of it all. Luckily photographer and FÖK William Yan was on his A-game to capture it all for us. Check out his images and full report below.
Here's what William had to say:
Last night was a blast thanks to Kanon Vodka who held it down with the drinks at the Uniqlo Fifth Avenue store opening. Everybody who's somebody was there. The place was packed full of people and I got so caught up in good conversation that I somehow missed Santigold's performance. I was tipped off that Bill Cunningham was there too, but I didn't catch him this time around. However, I did end up catching a few people on my lens - Carlos Campos, Kareem Black, Kate Lanphear, KAWS, Michelle Harper, Rich Tong and others were all caught on the Yan cam.
