A phrase we commonly use here at Kanon is “home is where the heart is.” In our case, we only bottle the very best, aka the heart, at our distillery in Sweden. We also like to say that to know yourself, you have to know where you come from. So last month, we took a trip across the Atlantic and headed to our home, the Gripsholm Distillery (built in the 19th century!) to visit the place where all the magic happens. We took in the sights and got the Kanon experience right at its very (organic) core. Here’s a look at our Swedish adventure filled photo diary.
Above: Kanon's founder, Peter Hjelm, in front of his family home at the distillery.

These are the cabins that some of the team roughed it in on the Island. It was pretty comical watching people try and maneuver their way to the cabins at night with no lit paths.

A family portrait in front of the Hjelms’ family home right before our lunch, where Andreas and Peter made us Thai soup.

This is the dinning room/restaurant at our hotel called Berns Hotel (so beautiful!)

Old Town Stockholm.

This man-made hot tub is run off of firewood. This is where most of us ended the night after the Crayfish party (a night filled with Swedish drinking songs, Kanon shots, Schnapps and crayfish) and some even jumped in the Sea. Those photos are a little incriminating…

Peter and Jorge enjoying the sights. This is Peter's boat that he picked us up in to go to Moja Island, Archipelago where he has a summer home and where we had our Crayfish Party.

This painting was altered to have Peter H's head attached to the body; the Kanon jug was also added in.

The bottle on the left is what they used to bottle vodka in, versus our current bottle to the right.

From left to right: Members of the Kanon team, Linsey Jasper, Albie Hueston, Kristian Mirsch and Leah Johnson at a Kanon event called Propaganda, which was held in an old paint factory. It was a super cool, rave-like setup.

At a fast food place called MAX Burger. So yummy after a long day and night of drinking. A perfect end to a perfect day.
