When you think of the insanely creative and crazy world of Tim Burton, a lot comes to mind. Imagine channeling his quirky, macabre vibe, a series of costumes inspired by the director's most famous movies, and Kanon cocktails into a party at Los Angeles' LACMA museum. Believe us, It was everything you could imagine and more. Burton enthusiasts gathered at LACMA where the BP Grand Entrance Boneyard served as a stage for the 25-piece band Killsonic, who stormed through awakening the dead with their electric performance.
People sipped our signature cocktail, The After Life Elixir (made with Kanon, lemon verbena bitters, simple syrup, soda, and mint) while waiting for one of the party's most popular attractions- getting their costumes judged by our friends The Bumbys. Even folks who didn't know of the masked duo, who are famous for their typewritten, unflinchingly honest appearance appraisals, lined up and primped in line. But, really, it was the costumes that were definitely the star of the night--the LACMA's West Funeral Parlor on the balcony was center stage for the costume contest, where all the entries were hand-picked. Our very own Peter Wijk and his wife, dressed as the Mad Hatter and Queen of Hearts, were even hand-selected for the Best Tim Burton character category- a prize that eventually went to a Burton-inspired voodoo doll. But don't take our word on how much fun we had – take a look at the photos and see for yourself. You'll be appreciating Burton's style faster than you can say Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice.
