This past Sunday we toasted for a good cause, joining forces with Alex's Lemonade Stand, an organization that seeks to find a cure to all childhood cancer. To celebrate the second annual LA Loves Alex's Lemonade Stand party, we spent the day pouring cocktails for our new friends on the West Coast (ahem Neil Patrick Harris), while Jimmy Kimmel took over the mic to emcee some serious cook-offs between LA's hottest chefs. There were three awesome cocktails on offer, including a pairing of the classic Bloody Mary, with a more off-kilter variety (grapes and roasted tomatoes...sounds weird, tasted amazing). Click through for some photos of the event, and stir up the El Ray bloody mary for yourself using the recipe below. Just consider this our "adult-style lemonade stand.”
El Ray:
2 oz Kanon
1 oz Simple Syrup
1 oz Lime Juice
3/4 oz Celery Juice
Kosher Salt/Celery
Combine ingredients. Shake with fervor. Strain over fresh ice in glass rimmed with Kosher and Celery Salt.
Thanks to Brian Quint for the recipe!
