  • Make Our Thanksgiving Cocktail: The Tipsy Turkey

We wish we could convince you that the Pilgrims drank Kanon at their very first Thanksgiving dinner, but alas - we can't always get our way. Still, that doesn't mean that you shouldn't drink Kanon THIS Thanksgiving dinner. We put together a delicious seasonal cocktail that is way easier to whip up than any turkey will be on the big day. Better yet, we enlisted one of our favorite FOKs, blogger Geri Hirsch, to show you how to make it. See? No excuses.

Get your grocery lists ready, friends. Skål!

    Ingredients:
    1 (3-4 lb) pumpkin
    3/4 part maple syrup
    Kanon Organic Vodka
    Bourbon
    3/4 part lemon juice
    Cinnamon

The best thing about being a vodka is that we can be EVERYWHERE at once. And why wouldn’t we want to be wherever anyone is craving a refreshing organic cocktail? The best part about Midsummer (let us count the ways), is that we were able to have a great time not only in New York this year, but across the country in LA too. Yes, we're taking our favorite Swedish holiday bi-coastal. It’s really only a matter of time before we take over the world.

Because we’re such responsible drinkers (always eat before you drink!), we held a lunch at the Sunset Marquis with friends and FOKs of the California variety. We were joined by an eclectic, standout crowd– people like designer and FOK Jeremy Scott, Krystal Simpson, actor and director Eli Roth, blogger Geri Hirsch and one of our favorite music bloggers Diana Miller, who tweeted, “I love summertime, day-parties, music and vodka”–all we can say is, you’re not alone, Diana.

The girls from Honestly WTF, Erica and Lauren, even got us into the DIY spirit with some amazing flower crowns– one of our favorite Midsummer traditions (you can make one for yourself, here). California girls with wild flowers in their hair? Pretty much a dream come true.

All in all, our Midsummer LA party was a new milestone for us. But don't take our word for it. Take a look at our photos from the luncheon above– don’t you wish Midsummer happened every weekend? Sigh.

You may have noticed us creeping our way into LA over the pass couple of months, but we're calling last night our official announcement– and we don't take these kinds of celebrations lightly. To kick off our left coast arrival, we joined Chrissie Miller, the designer behind label Sophomore, in celebration as she launched her latest lookbook film Truth or Dare

The film--which features a crazy cast of characters including actress Chloe Sevigny and a few of our FOKs--brought out an awesome crowd for the screening at Paul & Andre on Hollywood Boulevard. Both Chrissie's LA gang and New York friends like Nicky Hilton and Frankie Rayder were there to support and happily sipped on Kanon, while our blogger friends Geri Hirsch and Jazzi McGilbert commenced a little game of truth or dare on their own. By the time midnight rolled around, people were packing onto the dance floor and letting loose to "Say It's Your Birthday" by the Beatles in honor of Aaron Bondaroff. All in all, another successful night spent with friends of Kanon, with a whole new coast of exploration ahead of us.

Last night at the screening of Sophomore's new lookbook/short film "Truth or Dare" LA ladies and bloggers, Geri Hirsch of Because I'm Addicted and Jazzi McGilbert of Jazzi McG, got inspired to play their own little game of truth or dare...the below is what ensued. And check above for photographic proof.

    Jazzi: Truth or dare, Gerbear?

    Geri: Truth!

J: What was your first AOL screen name?

G: Vallgrlchrs... as in Valley Girl Cheers. So embarrassing!

J: Oy, mine was katwlkgyrl. Guess we both rebelled against those pesky vowels.

G: Your turn. Truth or dare?

    J: Dare.

G: Chug whatever drink I make you behind the bar and chase it with a glass of limes.

    J: Done!

    G: Bringing middle school back!
