Last night we continued our planned takeover of the music industry--fashion isn't enough for us, you see. So we headed out to one of our go-to spots, Mister H at the Mondrian SoHo, for more CMJ action. This time we got in touch with our inner hip-hop roots and feted the A Tribe Called Quest doc, "Beats, Ryhmes & Life: The Travels of a Tribe Called Quest." Party-goers got crunk with Kanon-filled cocktails, and danced the night away thanks to the spinning talents of our DJ, ?uestlove. And word has clearly gotten out about how ridiculous (in a good way) our Midsummer and Bitter Red cocktails are. How do we know this? Well, even Pharrell couldn't stay away. All in all, another successful night out in the Big Apple. Now if only CMJ happened every week.

Here's a look at our night in photos.

Music is our middle name these days, and now that the music festival CMJ is in full swing in New York, there's definitely no rest for the weary for this vodka. Among our stops this week? A mixer for the Windish Agency at the penthouse of the Mondrian Soho. Think lots of Converse and Kanon cocktails — it’s our new favorite combination, albeit a strikingly different one from Fashion Week’s 4-inch minimum. We also stopped by the after-party for Pearl Jam where our Midsummer and Bitter Red cocktails kept the party going at Mr. H downstairs.

The long awaited opening of the Mondrian SoHo finally happened last night, and it's a good thing New Yorkers know how to stick it out even when brutal weather strikes. After fighting our way through a monsoon to get to the Crosby Street venue, we were more than ready to throw back a few cocktails– and last night we did just that along with our newest FOK, Leandra Medine, perhaps more commonly known as The Man Repeller (which also happens to be the name of her blog). Click over and you'll find plenty of witty commentary on all of the most man repellant yet fashionable items a woman could ever wear– including but not limited to massive shoulder pads, harem pants and the like. But stick around first to read her thoughts on last night's Kanon-filled fête. Here’s what she had to say:

Despite the torrential downpour plagued upon Manhattan last night, The Mondrian Soho’s opening celebration, held at full capacity and then some, proved that the party don’t stop for some silly rain drops.

Or for a live performance from The Kills, (and some drinks on Kanon,) at least.

The Mondrian set out a tent outside the entrance to keep party-goers dry while waiting to hear the door women holding virtual clipboards (cue: the iPad) decide the fate of their nights. More often than not people were turned away into the wet weather. But for the lucky slew that properly RSVPed, the party inside promised a slamming good time and a stylish peek at some of New York’s sweetest trend-setters. Becka Diamond x ostrich feather boa…Brad Goreski x Burberry leather moto-jacket, I'm lookin’ at you.
