One of our main Fashion Week goals each season is to bring non Fashion Week goers insider access--hence this year's NYFW Instagram Viewer, the tons of cocktail recipes we post from our events, and party photos up the wazoo. Now we bring you this. Incredible designer Phillip Lim also happens to be a FOK (that's friend of Kanon for any of you newcomers)--so naturally there are perks to this relationship. Like getting hold of his exclusive track list from his A/W 2012 runway show. Close your eyes, take a listen to the tracklist below, and imagine you're sitting front row next to Anna Wintour. You know what they say about the power of visualization.

  • Our Friends of Kanon NYFW Instagram Viewer is LIVE!

    Kanoninstagram

This Fashion Week, we decided to top ourselves once again– and that usually means doing something that's never been done before (see: livestreaming a blogger for 24 hours). This time around, we've taken one of our favorite social media platforms, Instagram, and reimagined it the Kanon way. On our Friends of Kanon NYFW Instagram Viewer, we've allowed you to access all of the best Fashion Week Instagrams in one place as they happen– so you don't have to waste time scrolling endlessly on your smart phone trying to find the good stuff.

Use our handy filter system on the left to customize the feed depending on your specific interests. You can filter by designer, blogger, FOKs (aka Friends of Kanon), as well as specific Fashion Week hashtags. You can also like, tweet, pin, or comment on any of the Instagrams you love best. So peruse, enjoy, share with your friends, and let us know what you think by Tweeting us at @kanonvodka. Cheers to Fashion Week!

  • Goodness and Kanon Team Up For New York Fashion Week

    Goodness_invite_feb_2012

Here at Kanon we try to be as good as possible--well, when it comes to certain things (ie. being a sustainable, organic, and delicious product). Pacing our cocktail intake is another story. But the bottom line is, we always strive for the best, be it parties, cocktails or friends–and even though New York Fashion Week is one of our busiest times of year, we can't abandon our environmental ethos.

Enter Goodness: the brainchild of model and environmentalist Elettra Wiedemann. The pop-up restaurant (now in its second year) provides the best in organic and locally-sourced food to the fashion folk near Lincoln Center. Doors open February 11th at the Museum of Art and Design's Robert Restaurant, and each day lunch will be prepared by a different (and amazing) chef. We're talking the likes of Mario Batali and the restaurant's own Leo Forneas. Lunch is served from 11-3 PM daily until the 14th, so make your reservations ASAP. As if that wasn't reason enough to go, we'll be offering a different and delicious speciality cocktail each day. So if your schedule takes you by the tents, give yourself a break and head to Goodness for a meal that does good for your body and the environment. Cheers to Fashion Week

It’s not often you get to be a professional fly on the wall. But that's exactly what we've been over the past few days. We decided to station ourselves at our 8th floor Kanon bar (curated by Apotheke) at Milk Studios this week, to try and catch the fashion crowd's reactions to our libations firsthand. And really, we haven't been disappointed. If you’ve been following our Twitter feed, you know we’ve had quite an eclectic and completely awesome crowd of fashionistas, editors, and generally good looking folk (hello, Ed Westwick) come through and taste our delicious designer-inspired cocktails over the weekend.

  • Talking Fashion Week With Costello Tagliapietra

    Costello_efk_6061

Jeffrey Costello (left) and Robert Tagliapietra

Fashion Week is rolling by and we're making sure the fun doesn't stop. In between pumping fashion's finest full of delicious Kanon cocktails here at MILK, we took some time out to speak with our favorite plaid-clad lads. Jeffery Costello and Robert Tagliapietra. The duo behind Costello Tagliapietra showcased their collection of ladylike silhouettes, done in super sick deconstructed florals, on Friday. We caught up with them after their show to talk inspiration, music and, of course, cocktails. And we're pretty confident that we've converted Robert into a vodka guy--because we're just that good.

Kanon Vodka: Hi! We’re with Kanon Vodka, those crazy kids who have a bar upstairs. Congratulations on the show. Can you tell us a little bit about the inspiration for today’s collection?

Robert Tagliapietra: We started with the word romance and, you know, the idea of the return for us to a romantic, feminine collection. It filtered into this floral thing where we were really exploring florals for the first time and really wanted to abstract them and remove the quality but still have the essence of creating little flowers.

KV: How do you two work together to create a cohesive collection?

Jeffrey Costello: Everything is each of us; it’s all equal!

At Kanon we're all about vodka (clearly), FOKs, and of course, some good fashion (especially this week). And when we need a little cocktail inspiration, sometimes all it takes is talking to our favorite designers. This Fashion Week, we asked five designers to share the inspirations behind their runway collections, which were then transformed by our friends and mixologists over at Apotheke into mouth-watering cocktails. But since we're just a bit biased, we asked an outside party for her honest opinion of the libations. Enter, Jenn Camp, who runs one of our favorite blogs Le Fashion.

Here's what Jenn had to say:

These cocktails are the cherry on top for this New York Fashion Week! I was so excited to hear that Apothéke had collaborated with Kanon Vodka. Nothing makes me happier than when fashion and food come together. Apothéke believes that the "presentation of a cocktail is just as dramatic as the cocktail itself." They are a perfect match for fashion, no? All of the recipes look delicious, but the one I am most interested in is the Red Savage inspired by Katie Gallagher's S/S 2012 collection. Garbanzo beans and ginger? Now this I've got to try!

Check out all of the recipes below and try making them at home:

    Dew Drop

    Inspired by Erin Fetherston’s S/S 2012 collection

    2oz Kanon Organic Vodka
    1oz Honeydew/Tarragon purée
    3/4oz Aloe Vera juice
    1/2oz fresh lime juice
    1/4oz agave nectar
    Pinch of smoked paprika
    2 mint leaves

To make: Measure all ingredients except paprika into a shaker. Add ice. Shake vigorously and strain into glass. Garnish with a mint leaf and a dash of paprika.

To make Honeydew/Tarragon purée, blend 1/4 of a Honeydew Melon with 2 tarragon sprigs.
