Here at Kanon we're really into holidays--there's just something about the chance to make and consume tons of themed cocktails that gets us excited. But holidays dedicated to drinking are even more holy in our books. Enter: St. Patrick's Day. We know, we know, it's a drinking holiday that's typically associated with beer--but we love being green, and we love drinking (duh), so a combination of the two is a no brainer.

To prove to you that us vodka lovers can get in on the St. Patty's fun too, we rounded up a list of some of the best parties to ensure you celebrate all week long--and have a St. Patty's day to remember (or, you know, not). Plus, we've included a morning after brunch that's sure to cure your hangover in a snap.

Kiss Me, I'm Irish at the Hudson Hotel
This Thursday, put on your best green gear and celebrate early by heading over to the Hudson Hotel for their St. Patty's day party. Pretty sure that with Kanon cocktails involved, you won't need the luck of the Irish to have a good time. Click HERE for more info.

Disco Dive Pool Party: St Patty's Day Edition at the Standard LA
The Standard LA's weekly pool party is getting a St. Patty's day twist! DJs, green cocktails and a pool? Sounds like we've found the pot of gold. Click HERE for more info.

Beat Your St. Patty's Day Hangover at The Churchill
The morning after the day of the Irish is sure to be a rough one. Good thing The Churchill is offering a do-it-yourself Kanon Vodka bloody mary-soaked brunch to help make the morning a little less painful. Tickets now available on Thrillist.com.

Without further ado, we present five Kanon cocktails to try this holiday season.

One of the most fun parts of the post-Basel wind-down has been getting everyone's different perspectives on the jam packed week of partying, art viewing and the like. So with no further delay, we bring you the latest FOK take from Miami based blogger Amanda Del Duca, who acted as quite the tour guide/wingwoman this past week.

Here's what Amanda had to say about Basel:

I’ve lived in Miami for almost three years and I can firmly say the city never looks better than it does the first week of December. The weather is warm and cool at the same time, making for great fashion and the rare ability to layer in South Florida. Trendy artsy types fly in from New York, Scandinavia, London and Paris to all join the marathon of parties and installations that is Art Basel Miami Beach.

This year, David and I tagged along with Kanon Organic Vodka and joined in their Basel takeover with a sick lineup of events. The fun started on Tuesday and raged 'til Sunday; here are my highlights.

On Wednesday I met up with Kanon creative director, Harry Beee, on the rooftop of The Webster Miami. I unfortunately missed the Case Scenario + Refinery 29 + Pantone luncheon a few hours beforehand due to a scheduling mishap, but heard the event was very chic. Kind of bummed I missed Giovanna Bataglia - but alas it was only the first day.

One of our favorite Twitter personalities and friends has to be Stan of The Standard Hotel's @Standarde (try saying that 5 times fast), and we were lucky enough to spend our last day of Art Basel sharing beach chairs and cocktails with the hotel's coolest crew. Instead of imparting you with our own endless wisdom, we asked Stan himself to snap some pics at the Lazy Sunday BBQ and give you his own take on the day through Instagrams. Enjoy!

We love to toast to friends and FOKs on a job well done. Always a cause for celebration, right? What's even better is when forces combine to create double the cause for celebration (at least in our eyes). On Wednesday night we stopped by The Standard to check out their collaboration with the super-hip (and might we add, Swedish) company WeSC. Think amazing leather travel accessories like passport holders and luggage tags and a sweet set of headphones that we're highly coveting. Cheryl Dunn was on hand throughout the night as one of the directors of the short city-centric films The Standard and WeSC have been using to promote the collab.

Between sipping on our Kanon Krush and Kanon Ruby cocktails at the bar and perfecting the art of pre-dance swaying, we took in the incredible views of the Hudson and city skyline- which looked great, even with a layer of fog descending upon us.

Just when we thought the night couldn't get better, Steed Lord took the stage and electrified the crowd into serious dance party mode (guy with the orange hair doing break-dancing moves under the giant disco ball... #respect). Lead singer Kali dazzled with amazing vocals and the most impressive head of blond hair we've ever seen (and we're from Sweden...so that's saying something). Drinking, dancing, and toasting to friends - three things that make us feel complete. Check out the photos from the night.

  • Leandra Medine's Halloween Costume Round-Up: The Man Repellers vs. The Propellers

    Img_8994

We know Halloween can be notoriously famous for a few things - candy, spirits (both of the ghoulish sort and the distilled sort), and for its costumes - or really, lack thereof. On a night where skimpy costumes take center stage, we wanted to get a different perspective from one of our favorite FOKs and bloggers, Leandra Medine of The Man Repeller. Since she knows a thing or two about unconventional sartorial choices, we asked for her take on her favorite costumes that were both man repelling and man propelling at The Standard's Saints and Sinners party.

  • Our 5 Favorite Moscow Mules in NYC

We always enjoy sampling a well-crafted cocktail from our forward thinking mixologist FÖKs, but once in a while we get a hankering for a little vintage inspired imbibing. Lately we've been feeling the Moscow Mule: a mouthwatering mix of ginger beer, lime, and vodka, this 1950s favorite has experienced a recent resurgence in some of New York's hottest restaurants and watering holes. We've searched high and low and compiled a list of our favorites to assist you in some former-Soviet-style sipping. Cheers!

The Raines Law Room, 48 W 17th St.

This intimate, dimly-lit Flatiron speakeasy has some of the swankiest decor in the city, as well as an expertly mixed Mule. In true prohibition era fashion, waiters are summoned by flipping a switch next to the table, offering patrons a sense of privacy perfect for dates. And make sure to get a good look at the wallpaper (ideally after a cocktail or two... trust us).

    Dutch Kills, 24 - 27 Jackson Ave (Long Island City), (718) 383 2724

It's not often that we venture out to Queens, but the drinks at Dutch Kills make the trek well worth it. This hidden gem boasts some of the smartest mixologists in all five boroughs, and at only $8 during happy hour (Sun-Thurs, 5 to 7 PM), their Moscow Mule makes for a killer after work treat.

  • Stan D'Arde's National Vodka Tour (Or Something Like That)

    Photo1

The Pennydrop at The Standard, New York

As far as hoteliers we love, Stan D'arde from The Standard (isn't he a clever fella?) is at the top of our list. From his always-amusing tweets to his witty blog, it's impossible not to love our man Stan. Plus, he's a big fan of vodka, so there you have it: a match made in heaven.

As Kanon recently got stocked behind the hotel's various bars, we asked Stan to share how he gets his drink on in his favorite Standard cities. Check out his picks for drinks of choice nationwide. And when you go to order them up, don't forget to ask for Kanon. Now, we hand it over to Stan:

If anyone has ever come across my path, they know there is nothing more that I love than a vodka drink. My favorite by far is the Stan D’artini. Okay, it’s not really called that, except by Yusef who loves to make them for me on Top of the Standard. How do I take it? I think you all know by now. Lightly dirty, up, one olive. But I digress...

The beauty of being moi is that I have bars across the country at all of the Standard Hotels in which I may imbibe and lose myself. Sometimes literally! Remind me to tell you about that one time in Hollywood. It made The Hangover look like a 5th grade field trip.

Normally, I don’t like to drink alone, except when I’m opening all my Dior Homme shopping bags, so I wanted to share with you my favorite cocktails in all the bars in all the cities in hopes that one of them will entice you to join me. Tweet me when you get to the bar, and I’ll meet you there.

Classic Martini: Top of The Standard at The Standard, New York – This is by far my favorite bar in New York City. And yes, I’m totally biased. It’s my home away from home, and the birth place of the Stan D’artini, the aforementioned delight which has become like mother’s milk to me. With 360-degree views like these, it’s impossible not to indulge in one of the chicest cocktails known to man.
