At Kanon, we're pretty into discovering new things. Whether it's cool ingredients for a delicious cocktail or a new spot for parties, we like to be in the know. So we're stoked to introduce you to one of our favorite new music acts to come out of Sweden: Caviare Days

Sisters Lina and Maja Westin are behind the band's psychedelic 60s rock sound. We're hooked, seriously.

We were, of course, on hand for their album release party, which was held in a rad old church-turned-art studio in Stockholm. To tap into the venue's old-school vibe, we brought not one, but two, of our antique shot dispensers which helped ensure the night go down as smoothly as our vodka.

Check out the photos, then watch the video for Caviare Days' new single, "You'll Qualify," produced and directed by Clara Tägström and Johannes Pescatore.

Last week, we let our inner skateboarder out. We joined the real professional skateboarder (and MTV star) Rob Dyrdek + his partners, Pete Fox and Jerome Mage, to celebrate the launch of  their new project: IVI Eyewear (aka really sick sunglasses). Some of LA's finest, including pro-skateboarder and MTV star--we know, this is starting to sound familiar!--Ryan Sheckler and actor Anton Yelchin, stopped by for a Kanon cocktail. When they weren't at the bar sampling our organic concoctions, guests watched LA-based band BLEACHED rock out on stage. Our favorite part? Letting loose to the tunes of DJ Mom Jeans (aka Danny Masterson), the actor and co-founder of Confederacy, one of LA's coolest stores.

Check out these shots from our most-recent LA party and pick up some IVI Eyewear, pronto (trust us, they make any hangover look better.)

We haven't been to Sweden in what seems like forever. So we decided to head back to the Motherland to drink Kanon-inspired cocktails in our natural habitat. We hit Stockholm hot spot Under Bon to celebrate the release of Stocking Rocket by Handl&Den. And, just like with all of our parties, we didn't hold back. Since the night was all about legs (cool animations by William Björnstierna and Henrik Callerstrand, among others, were projected on a massive cube light attached to the outdoor ceiling…freaking awesome), guests sipped on the "Seamless" cocktail that was specially created for this event (we like our stockings seamless and our drinks smooth).

We do it up big time when we go home, so we brought in our friends Icona Pop and Caviare Days (one of Sweden's hottest bands right now) to make sure the crowd hit--and stayed--on the dance floor. During dance breaks, guests headed into the shot-dispensing photo booth (yup, that's right: shot-dispensing), for fun times. It was a night to remember, to say the least.

Check out these photos from our recent Swedish adventures, then watch FOK Icona Pop's newest music video, "I Love It." Trust us, you'll love it...and not just because that's the title or because it was directed by FOK Fredrik Etoall (although those are two of the reasons we love it).

There's no place more perfect than Desert Hot Springs, California for a day of sun bathing and testing out awesome new sunnies. Such was our Sunday spent with Prism's designer Anna Laub by the pool at the Noise Pop Oasis this past weekend. Festival goers like Rumi Neely, the Arab Parrot, Charles Smith and Melodie Musset tried out the party host's cool, highly stylized shades along with her capsule collection of sunglass chains that double as geometric necklaces--all aptly named after various music festivals. There were a selection of four delicious Kanon cocktails for the drinking (think vodka Pina Coladas, Bloody Marys and Screw-Mosas), a gourmet brunch buffet by chef Christian Page, and a special performance by Keep Shelly in Athens--but the real party didn't get started until one particular guest started doing fully clothed canon (excuse us, Kanon) balls into the main pool. After a shaky start to the weekend (rain and severe wind warning alerts have to be some kind of first for Palm Springs), the sun came out just in time for our two main weekend events.

On Saturday, friends of Kanon gathered by the pool at the Noise Pop Oasis to fete FOK Kristin Reiter's new site launch and Snow White iPhone case. Between people Instagramming the kitschy 70s desert vibe of the property and taking iPhone self portraits with their new cases in hand, it was quite the technologically savvy event. But there was plenty of relaxation underway too--mango flavored cocktails and a selection of mineral pools on the premise made sure of that. And to top it all off, a constantly rotating group of DJs including Penguin Prison and Skeet Skeet were getting festival goers amped for the nighttime shows. Most importantly, Reiter, the event's host seemed to be having a blast floating on the
pool's blow-up swan and dancing with friends all afternoon. It was the best antidote to the hyper speed energy at the festival.

We figured it was high-time to get back to the motherland for some serious Swedish partying. And what better occasion to celebrate than the 10th anniversary of one of our fave reads: Bon Magazine. So celebrate, we did. As well as drink copious amounts of Cucumber Lemonades. And dance the night away in a 19th Century villa with some of Stockholm's chicest fashion peeps (not to mention the amazing surprise guests that turned up during the night--you'll have to read on to find out who). We chatted with the magazine's editor-at-large, Madelaine Levy, to get the lowdown on the night filled with fabulous friends, an air of decadence, and great cocktails. Yeah, the Swedes definitely know how to do it.

Kanon Vodka: How would you describe Bon Magazine?

Madelaine Levy: Bon is a fashion and arts magazine with its own simple, elegant, direct, insouciant aesthetic. We publish really in-depth articles and interviews on the state of fashion and creativity, so I like to think of us as a fashion magazine with a brain.

    KV: Where was the party?

ML: In Villa Ludvigsberg, an amazing 19th-century villa with original interiors, period furniture and a view over Stockholm that had never hosted this kind of party before.

    KV: Who was there?

ML: Bon's 300 closest friends...  A great mix of artists and creatives, including many of Sweden's most successful fashion designers, and other people who have supported us throughout the years. It was also great to see all the fantastic Bon collaborators, especially those that came from Paris, London and NYC.

People who plan Sunday night parties basically become our insta-friends. Which is why we can now add a few more cool girls to our growing friendship circle. To celebrate Wren's 2012 collection, Gia Coppola hosted a screening of her film What's Up? (directed by Leith Clark of Lula Magazine), at TENOVERSIX's Melrose store. The film featured pieces from the Wren collection, designed by Melissa Coker.

Needless to say (especially if you're taking the super chic hosts into consideration), it was quite the gathering of cool kids. Clémence Poésy, Rumi Neely, Victoria Bergsman, Jared Eng and Vena Cava designer Sophie Buhai were just some of the recognizable faces to stroll through. But the highlight of our night had to be taste testing the cocktail trio crafted by Coppola and Clark. Lavender-infused vodka anyone? Check out all the photos from the event above.

If we had any doubts that Atlanta could keep up with New York City's awesome shindigs, those were quickly put to rest this weekend after we spent Saturday night at ATL's ABV Gallery. The gallery, whose name aptly stands for "A Better View," provided just that this weekend with their new exhibition "Fear and Loathing in ATL." The play off the Hunter S. Thompson novel made for quite the spectrum of art, from colorful cartoons atop skateboards, to abstract paintings, to more literal riffs off the Las Vegas theme--all from an array of artists. Naturally, to take things up another notch, we provided the cocktails to ensure everyone left having had the best time possible. Turns out, it was a record breaking event for the gallery, with 1000 plus guests weaving in and out of the art space throughout the evening. All in all, a successful Saturday night if we do say so ourselves. Check out the pictures above to view some of the works that will be on display at ABV through April 13th.

Now that Fashion Week festivities have slowed to a simmer, we're excited to pick up some slack in our markets beyond New York like LA, Miami and SF. We kicked off March last week with the first fête in San Fran at Bastille to help denim brand Thvm celebrate their "Artist Series"-- a showcase of curated works from emerging artists all done on denim. Pretty cool stuff. Our old friends at Refinery29 were also on hand to snap the coolest street style looks of the night, and of course, help us finish off a substantial amount of vodka. Surrounded by a ton of cast members from upcoming flick The Hunger Games, plenty of pumped up kicks from PF Flyers and amazing eats from the Palihouse, one thing's for certain--we were definitely not left hungry nor bored by the end of the night. We often say this, but it truly was panda-monium at Red Egg Wednesday night where we honored Nicola Formichetti and his new venture with Tumblr. We say that because not only was there a serious amount of panda-related paraphernalia (Nicola's mascot) hanging everywhere, but there was also a copious amount of Kanon behind the bar. Which, you know, always makes everyone a little crazy (in a good way).

The dance floor was packed, the vodka was flowing, and we saw more than a few people sporting their Formichetti-designed panda tees. Nicola's fashion squad was out in full force, and we even spotted Coco Rocha and photog duo Inez and Vinoodh supporting the stylist and sipping some Kanon cocktails. Combine all this with the fog machine on premise and we had one hell of a party on our hands. Check out the photos below and see what happens when pandas (and Kanon) take over Red Egg.

Last night marked a lot of lasts for us. The last party of Fashion Week. The last specialty Kanon cocktail we'll be creating for the week's festivities. The last time we'll be seeing Jared Leto until next September...and all in honor of the Last Magazine's latest issue.

But being the spontaneous folks that we are, there were also a lot of firsts involved. Like our first time drinking green pepper flavored cocktails, and our first time trying out awesome sunnies brand Prism (every dinner guest was gifted their own sweet pair). And of course, there were some constants handed down from last year's amazing party with the magazine–the top-notch crowd for one. The list of notables in attendance is way too overwhelming to go through here, but just to give you a taste, we'll mention that Terry Richardson, Richard Chai, Alexandra Richards, Brad Goreski, Hanne Gaby Odiele, Jenne Lombardo, Johan Lindeberg, Lindsay Wixson, Phillip Lim and Chelsea Leyland were all in attendance. And that isn't even a fraction of the cool kids who showed up ready to dance the night away to beats from Kim Foxman of Hercules and Love Affair. It was a pretty sweet party, we have to say. Check out all the photos from the night above and see for yourself.

This time around, it was an appearance from The Kills to celebrate their 10th anniversary and free-flowing cocktails all night (duh), all within the space of the cool, new Dream Downtown. We spent the night dancing to beats from Ellie Dee, Dave Katz, and BP Fallon while people like Nur Khan, Allison Mosshart, Rose McGowan and Brad Goreski strolled by. No big deal. You’d think that man repelling would be essentially impossible when cocktails are involved—ahem, social lubrication. But, oh no, not when Leandra Medine the official Man Repeller, is involved. At the Webster Miami's soiree last week, we paired up with our fave harem-pants wearing, pattern-clashing FOK to create the drink least likely to attract attention from the male species. That’s right, behold our bright pink, fruity, cherry-adorned cocktail—The Man Repeller. Check out the recipe below and shake one up this weekend.

For best results, pair with an aggressive arm party and as many items of clothing as possible. The shy need not apply.

    The Man Repeller

    1.5 oz Kanon Organic Vodka
    1/2 oz Triple Sec
1/2 oz of freshly squeezed lemon juice
    1 oz fresh pear juice
    1 oz fresh cranberry juice

Combine ingredients in a shaker filled with ice. Shake and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a lemon twist and cherry.

Starting the new year with a kick-ass party is pretty much the only way we do it around here, and just last week, we provided the libations (and let's be honest, the fun) for The Elle Awards in Sweden. As the first international awards hosted by the magazine, it brought out 800 of the biggest fashion names in Sweden as well as international guests – including supermodel Caroline Winberg and singer Elin Lanto just to a name a couple.

If you've ever been to the Grand Hotel Stockholm, you know the venue is breathtaking with glitzy chandeliers and gilded walls surrounding you at every turn, which is why we had to ensure the caliber of cocktails were unmatched for the night's event. Thus, guests were treated to four different drinks crafted exclusively for the Elle soiree – and we must say, they turned out pretty darn delicious. Think strawberries, basil and vodka in a jar – but that's just a small taste (for full recipes click here). With the amount of events and parties filling up our planners this month, it's easy to see that we're finally in the swing of the holiday season – the season for cocktails, fancy dress, awesome playlists and gifts. But seeing as that Kanon is the gift that keeps on giving....it's not like we mind.

The last time we hung out with our friends at LoveCat Magazine, we were transported to a sexy Eyes Wide Shut-themed soiree at the Waldorf Astoria. It was probably one of the more memorable events we took part in all year, which  is why we had to find out what other seasonal-appropriate tricks the glossy had up their sleeves this holiday season.

Upon arrival at the underground Chinatown hot-spot Pulqueria last night, we descended the dark stairs into a crowded room filled with the hippest of the hip. Song after song made us want to dance as the 90s pulsated through the speakers (thank you Chelsea Leyland and Mia Moretti!)- we're talking House of Pain's "Jump Around" played back to back with Ace of Base's "The Sign." Does it get much better? The bar itself was decorated with the covers of LoveCat mag's Art Issue, for which notorious street artist Mr. Brainwash created Warhol-esque portraits of the man himself, as well as supermodel Cindy Crawford.

Amongst the crowd? Rock photog legend Mick Rock, Waris Ahluwalia, Lorenzo Martone, Nicole Trunfio, and gorgeous model after gorgeous model making their way through the crammed bar to get a passionfruit Kanon cocktail. We even spotted FOKs Scott Lipps and Krystal Simpson in the house. And really if this party was any indication, we're in for some happy holidays indeed. Here's a look at the night in photos.

There's really no place better than home during the holiday season, especially when home entails some fine Scandinavian-style partying. We kicked off winter with our friends and fellow Swedes at Happy Socks, who recently premiered a new series of portraits shot by FOK Terry Richardson at local gallery So Stockholm. Partygoers had the opportunity to shoot their own Richardson-inspired ad at the photo station, complete with props and, of course, an assemblage of top notch socks. And with the assistance of our signature Kanon shot machines (we didn't even bother with cocktails this time), even the most camera-shy of guests couldn't resist sneaking in front of the lens for their own model moment. Check out a few of the images here as well as general party photos shot by FOK Frederik Etoall.

As promised, we've got more Basel updates for you in both written and visual form. First up on the schedule yesterday was the MoMA JA Sunset Cocktail Party held at the Mondrian SoBe sunset lounge where party-goers sipped Kanon cocktails while enjoying the afternoon's entertainment: a Kim Kardashian Kontest presented by Dis Magazine. While the real Kim K was nowhere to be found, plenty of curvy look-alikes packed the party to compete for the ultimate title. But our favorite part was running into so many familiar New York faces throughout the evening including FOKs Kate Foley and Steven Rojas, Phil Oh of Street Peeper, and Mike Nouveau to name a few.

If we had thought the Kim Kardashian contest was the strangest thing we'd seen all day, those thoughts were quickly put to rest by the gaggle of male and female body builders that were acting as human art at the next event on our agenda: The Norwood's pop-up soiree. We had a blast taking in the live graffiti creations while sipping on our own special 'Hit and Run' libations for the night: a mix of Kanon, St. Germain, fresh lime juice, muddled cucumber, and muddled melon.

To top off the day, we made one last pitstop at the Westway's late-night party at the Shore Club, which has become somewhat of an Art Basel staple this week. To get a feel for the madness yourself, click through all the photos above.

To say that the last couple of days down at Art Basel have been a whirlwind would be a massive understatement. Between drinking, schmoozing, sun bathing, art viewing, bopping from party to party, and of course the inevitable late-night dancing, this vodka is getting quite tired. But that doesn't mean we aren't having the time of our lives. If you follow us on Twitter you probably know what we're talking about. But in case you don't already (ahem, get on it) then here's a little peek into our last 48 hours complete with Tilda Swinton sightings (a life highlight perhaps), FOK run-ins, more art viewing than at the MET, James Franco films, and of course many, many cocktails. Our most memorable art sighting yet? Watching our logo projected brightly onto the side of the Lords South Beach Hotel for the Midnight in Miami party presented by Boffo NY. If that's not art people, well then we don't know what is! Check out all the photos above, and don't forget to follow us on Twitter for more regular updates from the rest of Basel.

    Cheers!

We've spent the past couple days in the 305 kicking it at Art Basel with some of our favorite FOKs, and let us tell you: this crowd seriously puts the "art" in "party." Yesterday we hosted a trifecta of top-notch events, starting with a luncheon at The Webster celebrating the launch of Case Scenario and Pantone's new iPhone4 accessory line along with our friends from Refinery29. After a quick disco nap, we returned to the South Beach bar cum boutique for the worldwide launch of BLK DNM's 11 Fragrance, which featured a crew of international cool kids including Andre Saraiva, Darell Hartman, Waris Ahluwaria, Aaron Young, and the man of the hour, Mr. Johan Lindeberg. And when you're partying in the city where the heat is on, there's nothing like a nice Kanon cocktail to cool you down. We spent the early evening sipping on refreshing spiked cucumber lemonade as well as a special concoction we like to call the BLK Bomber – a mix of Kanon, Cointreau, pomegranate, OJ and lemon juice. Check out all the photos from BLK DNM's soiree, one of our favorite yet – and the week's barely just begun! And don't forget to check back later for more coverage of our Miami Basel takeover.

Yesterday we kicked off our Miami Basel takeover in style along with our friends at Refinery29, who hosted a luncheon at The Webster to celebrate the launch of Case Scenario's new iPhone accessory collection. The colorful crowd, which included the likes of Kristian Laliberte, Elizabeth von Guttman, Giovanna Bataglia and John Lin, enjoyed an afternoon of delicious canapes and fresh guava infused cocktails inspired by Pantone's "The Webster Pink" atop one of South Beach's hippest rooftops. Day drinking on a Wednesday under the Miami sun? We couldn't have asked for a better way to kick off the week's festivities. Solo, a Swedish retailer known for its impeccable selection of denim, celebrated its 30th anniversary last week in Gothenburg, Sweden along with Roy Ghazizadeh - and calling it the party of the year wouldn't be an exaggeration. Between the insanely beautiful people in attendance and our legendary shot machine (all bias aside, it’s quite the set up), the night was a hard one to beat.

To fête the Swedish institution, guests were treated to a live jazz band and various themed rooms set up by some of the clothing brands that Solo carries, like Replay, Tiger of Sweden and Bread and Boxers. And then the cupcakes came out. These may not have been vodka cupcakes per se, but trust us, there was plenty of Kanon flowing too. Check out the photos above to relive the night for yourself.
