Okay, remember when we said the last post was our last 4th of July mention 'til next year? Well. We lied. We found these pictures taken by Swedish blogger Sara Bourke over the weekend, and they were so rad we couldn't NOT put them up. But THIS is the real, official, really official last 4th of July post, we promise. At least until next year. In the meantime, check it out--a lot of our favorites make an appearance: Faran from Nylon, Becka Diamond, Richie Rich, those killer Acne shoes, and last but not least, our own Harry Beee.

Here it is folks--the last and final set of pictures from our epic 4th of July party at our summer house in Southampton. These particular shots come from our very own co-hosts and friends, Matt Kliegman and Carlos Quirarte, of The Smile. The Smile is an awesome little restaurant on Bond Street in Manhattan that's always filled with good people, good food, good times, and the best iced coffee around (you can't really argue with coffee ice cubes).

And that's a wrap. Check it out and look forward to more fun times this summer.

Anddd here's yet another set of snapshots from our all-American backyard 4th of July party. This time, the shutterbug du jour is our very own Harry Beee, Kanon's creative director, and by the looks of it, quite the amateur photographer. What can we say? We like to hang out with multi-talented people. Makes us look that much better. Plus, he's got great hair.

Our favorite shot from this set is the one of host Carlos Quirarte of The Smile doing what appears to be some sort of wildly ecstatic party howl. Pretty much sums the day up.

The 4th of July pictures from the weekend just keep rolling in. This little batch is from one Binki Shapiro, DJ, rising style icon, girlfriend of The Strokes' Fab Moretti, and all-around great girl. When she wasn't busy on the 1s and 2s making our guests dance their Kanon-Organic-Vodka-drinking hearts out, she was snapping some very cool shots with her disposable Lomo camera. Check it out.

  • 4th of July Video hosted by Becka Diamond

The fireworks are smoldering, the ice has melted, and the BBQ is tucked away. Our giant Kanon 4th of July party has come and gone and it was everything we’d hoped and wished for. Some of the coolest kids in New York City jumped up early and headed out to Southampton for a day of custom organic vodka cocktails, swimming, and brunch/lunch/dinner by The Smile. Oh, and tattoos. Lots of tattoos. Our friend Becka Diamond was there from the start documenting the activities and getting some diamond ink of her very own courtesy of Mark Cross of East River Tattoo. Becka also had time to try all six of Stefanie Marco’s cocktail creations, sample The Smile’s take on the traditional 4th cook out, and finally hang back with Chrissie Miller for some DJ tips. Can’t wait till next year, kids.

The setting for our 4th of July party hosted by The Smile was unreal. Woods and trees, a beautiful pool, perfect weather, and lots of beautiful people in varying degrees of undress. All made for a perfect day with some perfect cocktails. Too many, quite possibly. Good thing we took photos, lots of them, and we like to share.

These pictures come from one Zac Sebastian, FOK, NYC photographer, and general man-about-town.

We asked FOK photographer Yana Toyber to give us a slightly different perspective on our by-now-infamous 4th of July party at our summer house in Southampton this weekend. She took our request seriously. Instead of snapping the requisite lawn/bikini/band/chugging-Kanon/eating-hot-dogs pics, she went straight into the pool to capture the much more peaceful underwater scene that was going on below-ground.

Connie Wang from one of our favorite blogs, Refinery 29, showed up to our big 4th of July party armed with a rad outfit and a camera. While everyone else was busy doing "Kanon-balls" into the pool (Get it? Ha.) and swigging our special 4th of July cocktails like there was no tomorrow, Connie was trend-spotting stripes, Staerk bathing suits, and making friends with all the cutest puppies roaming the party. She did better than us, that's for sure. Check out her awesome pics above and her take on the party here.

Wow. Yes, wow.  How are we even constructing sentences right now. Yuck, that rhymed. But anyway, our party is well under way in Southampton. We braved taxis, boats, and helicopters to get here and it was well worth it. The cocktails are flowing, the fireworks are exploding, and the tattoos are, uh, inking? Bottom line is that The Americans killed it on our stage/deck and Chrissie Miller is DJing like her life depends on it. It rules, we’re having fun and we’re gonna leave now and continue having fun. More later.

    Jan Warren's Clooney Cocktail

With all respect to tradition, we’d like to switch things up a bit this 4th of July. Yeah yeah, dads love to dole out the slightly warm, tepid canned beer and it’s hard to say no to an old man in an apron. But we figured we’re all due for an upgrade. That’s why we hit up our friend Jan Levi Warren, from one of our favorite restaurants 10 Downing, to concoct four delicious organic vodka cocktails that don’t necessitate a degree in chemistry to make. Get pops to put down that aluminum…he’ll thank us later.

    Clooney Cocktail
    2 oz Kanon Organic Vodka
    1/4 oz fresh peach puree
    1/2 oz fresh lemon juice
    1/2 oz simple syrup
    3 inches rhubarb stalk
    4 rosemary leaves

Shake well. Garnish with a stalk of rosemary.

    Ginger Bastard
    2 oz Kanon Organic Vodka
    3/4 oz fresh grapefruit juice
    3/4 oz Canton Ginger Cognac
    Garnish with a grapefruit peel.

    Purple Rain
    2 oz Kanon Organic Vodka
    1/2 oz lavendar syrup
    1/2 oz Lillet Blanc apertif
    Garnish with a lemon peel.

    Pink Kanonball
    2 oz Kanon Organic Vodka
    1/2 oz Royal Combier
    3/4 oz Combier Rouge
    1/2 oz fresh lime juice
Shake well with one egg white for at least 1 minute. Top with champagne and bitters.

  • FOK 4th of July: Where Will They Be?

    L1040577

Now we don’t like to brag. I mean, it’s unbecoming to say that we’ll be hosting an awesome party at our Southampton house with the boys from the Smile and Jane Hotel this 4th of July. Nope, we just wouldn’t do that. But we’ll gladly boast about our friends. We have awesome and amazing friends all over the world constantly doing interesting things we’ve never tried in places we’ve never heard of. So, we figured we’d ask around and see what they’re up to this holiday weekend if they aren’t hanging with us (their bad). Unsurprisingly, plans run the gamut from the traditional (BBQs at the beach) to the downright awesome (hanging with Grizzly Bear?). Either way here’s a voyeuristic look into the plans of our good friends. Promise not to stalk them.

Valerie Boster: I’ll be surfing in Sayulita, Mexico with friends Stephanie Paine, Julie Henderson and Samantha August.

Eddie Borgo: Keegan and I are going to be in Amagansett getting some much needed R & R. We are going to our friend’s annual BBQ—so excited to spend time with friends in the country!

Adam Green: I am racing through Europe like a punk rock fireball headed straight to Italy for July 4th. Bologna is my number one city on the planet for extreme fun times and freak-outs. I know this secret river there that you can only access through this girl’s apartment. I’m friends with an Italian vampire/actor who’s coming to celebrate…he broke his fangs on a bagel last time we were feeding. I can’t stop eating clams when I’m thinking about fireworks in America.

Piera Gelardi: I'm going home to Maine for the 4th. My friends from Grizzly Bear are performing at a jam band festival so we'll be hanging with a bunch of Phish heads on the day they perform—should be pretty hilarious. Then for the rest of the weekend we'll be relaxing at our house in Maine  (I'm a native), grilling, swimming, reading tabloids, and playing Hair She Blows—a pun game my friend Ed and I made up.

Ben Pundole: Throwing a 3rd of July party with Ben Watts and Rassi in Montauk.

Andrew Bevan: Lucky's Jenny Kang and I are going to be flying back from Sweden from a trip to visit the WESC headquarters. It's Jenny's birthday so, in spite of what will probably be many consecutive nights out dancing on tables in Stockholm, I'm sure we will be celebrating on our flight back to NY. Upon landing we are apparently taking our jet-lagged selves to see Justin Beiber perform on a boat in New York Harbor during the Macy's 4th of July Fireworks display.

Tommy Saleh: I'm going to be in Calvi, in the Island of Corsica on the beach and attending the Calvi on the Rocks Summer Festival. LCD Sound System is playing live too.

Liz Vap: I will going to the Wiliamsburg Waterfront  to see one of my favourite newly reunited bands Faith No More kick off the concert series there, then off  for some beach time in Milford, CT where my brother lives, then returning to NYC where the fireworks are the greatest for my friend's annual themed White Trash 4th of July Bash!

Becka Diamond: Hanging out at the Kanon Fourth of July party taking lots of pictures!
