Say it with us. Friday. It sounds just as great as what it is: the end of another work week. Now it's officially time to do what we do best – enjoy the weekend. If you haven't heard, it's day two of New York Fashion Week, but our favorite part of it all is the parties. Okay, and the influx of foreign models isn't so bad either. But if there's anyone who knows how to throw awesome parties, it's the GrandLife hotels. Tonight they'll be hosting their This Is Seven New York party at the Tribeca Grand, at which you'll be able to pick your Kanon poison of choice.

We can't wait to mix cocktails and mingle with our favorite blog stars – namely, FOK Bryanboy, Susie Bubble, Phil Oh of Streetpeeper and Rumi Neely of Fashiontoast. What happens when bloggers step away from their computers and cameras and get a drink in their hands? There's only one way to find out…

    See you tonight!

Fashion week is coming to a close and you can hear a collective sigh of relief emanating from New York City. The fashion flock is rapidly tiring of scrambling through nearly a dozen shows a day and experiencing a severe lack of sleep. Although, the upside to that sleep deprivation issue happens to be the cause--namely, there have been some awesome parties.

One would think that going to bat after carnivals, impromptu Kanye West performances and swanky rooftop soirees would be mission impossible but last night, Last Magazine and Kanon Vodka (a.k.a. Us) were up to that task. You probably didn't hear about new venue, The Bunker 22 (where said party was held), until the flurry of tweets hit Twittersphere, mostly talking about how much fun it was.

And it truly was. With the likes of Tenzin Wild, Magnus Berger, Derek Blasberg and Dree Hemingway rubbing shoulders and dancing in the cool new underground space, how could we have gone wrong? Most of the work is done people, time to have some fun.

If you wanted the quintessential New York Fashion Week experience you weren’t anywhere near Lincoln Center last night. You were at Milk Studios for FOK Pamela Love presentation along with all the downtown cool kids that make up New York. We love Love for many reasons- her unique creativity and passion inspire us – plus her whole working locally and responsibly sounds kinda familiar (ahem – Kanon). Her collection had everyone raving, including the likes of Carine Roitfeld and Olivier Zahm. When you got the French on your side you got it made in the shade. We provided the gimlets and our other friends Jenna Elizabeth and Harry Beee were there capturing the scene. Love did the rest.

  • The Rapture Performs "House of Jealous Lovers"

Everyone agrees that cake is pretty damn tasty… but there’s nothing like icing. For us, The Rapture was the icing on our proverbial cake this past weekend. For most people, who’ve seen the band play in sweaty clubs or huge arenas, seeing them go off on our amazing pool deck whilst jumping into a crystal clear pool was an experience that will pretty much define the summer of 2010.

But like all highs there’s a come down, so we didn’t let our friends go home empty handed. After stuffing themselves with tacos and Kanon cocktails our guests went home with gift bags courtesy of Burt’s Bees… perfect for treating those newly minted suntans. We don’t ever wanna come down.

  • Drinking with The Rapture

“House of Jealous Lovers” is a classic song. One that will immediately be associated with downtown New York in the early 21st century, right along with The Strokes or LCD Soundsystem. There was no jealousy (we think) at the Kanon house this past weekend. Thus, The Rapture’s rendition of their classic was more laced with irony than a literal interpretation.

Not much jealousy when there’s great music, food, Kanon cocktails, and a rad diving board. That’s pretty simple. In a good way. Also simple in a good way, Stefanie Marco’s Kanon summer cocktail that you can make in less time than one good Rapture song… as she demonstrates here, and as the boys in the band attest to. Also, looks of really good looking people.

  • A New York Summer by Trendland

Our friends at Trendland stopped by The Kanon Summer House to chill poolside, sip cocktails, and shoot the summer style.  Here is what Ani had to say:

As NY Fashion Week quickly approaches and schools are back in session, we are faced with the sad but true fact that summer is coming to another sweet end. So with that in mind we are prepared to give these last few weekends everything we got! Last weekend we bid a sweet farewell to one our most cherished NY weekend summer getaways : The Hamptoms.

The weekend was ... well you should have been there, its the only way you could understand, why summer in NY is just the best. We got to the beach in south hampton just before noon, with 2 cars and 10 of our friends, greased up and soaked the rays for a few hours. around 3:00 we decided to head over the Kanon vodka house to continue poolside with cocktails and see the Rapture perform, only to realize that our friend with the second car had taken off to go surf in Montauk without telling anyone. So here we were 9 people and one sorry ass rental, at least 25 minutes from where we needed to be. FUN TIMES! ill spare you those details though. So as it may have been our last summer pool party I got nostalgic and had to take the opportunity to shoot some Hamptons summer style and find out from everyone what their take on "A New York Summer" was. Here is what we got!

We’ve been pretty lucky this summer. An amazing cast of characters from music, film, fashion, art, and photography has all made their way out to the Kanon summer house in the Hamptons. This past weekend was no exception. It’s just icing on the cake that these fine folks are also guest blogging for us. Hell, we’d be happy just hanging out with them.

That’s certainly the case with photographer and FOK (Friend of Kanon) Sophie Elgort. She counts many fashion mags and clients in her body of work and we’re honored she brought her camera out with her to capture her time with The Rapture and with the rapture of people that made the good times roll this Saturday. Keep an eye out for a beautiful blonde snapping away this fashion week--that’s Sophie.

It may seem like Kanon’s had quite a presence in the New York area as of late, but can you believe we haven’t really had a party within the cozy confines of Manhattan? Neither could we. All that changed last night as we gathered to celebrate and screen FOK (Friend of Kanon) Casey Neistat’s new documentary on (surprise!) Kanon.

The ornate setting of the Jane ballroom was perfect for a movie on a rainy night. Instead of stale popcorn and sticky floors, there was Swedish meatballs, lingonberries, Kanon cocktails, tunes dished out by Chrissie Miller, Ramona Sildo and Jauretsi and a very very impressed audience. A thankful speech by brand director Stefanie Marco really summed up how far Kanon’s come and where it’s headed. You can be sure the future is lined with vodka and meatballs--and who could ask for anything more.

Stockholm, on an average weeknight, is a city filled with, not only beautiful people, but also unique individuals, cloaked in Scandinavian style and ready for a good time. Add Stockholm Fashion Week to the occasion and the model-to-normal-person ratio is severely screwed. Kanon couldn’t let this opportunity pass, thus we teamed with Intermission Magazine to throw the marquee party of the week.

We like a good narrative, and the Story Hotel didn’t disappoint as a setting. Although perhaps it could have spontaneously doubled in size as the place was packed with friends like Lykke Li and the Facehunter, in addition to the average Joe on the street. Who, during Stockholm Fashion Week, happens to be a solid ten. FOK Fredrik Skogkvist was on hand snapping away and capturing the lightning in a bottle that is Stockholm, models, and Kanon Organic Vodka.

Since Swedish Midsummer ended, most of our partying focus has been squarely in North America, preferably with pools, people, and lots and lots of Kanon. Emphasis on lots. Today we turn our focus back to home and origins as this past week was one raging party on the streets of Stockholm. The Stockholm Pride Festival kicked off and we were there to document the madness that went down. Armed with nothing but organic vodka and a serious lack of inhibition. If you live in New York and aren’t a complete and utter shut-in, you’ve probably met, drank with, or been photographed by Pete Miszuk. The man-about-town is unmistakable in his trademark fedora and tattooed arms (and fingers), riding his bike and basically mayoring around downtown New York.

But besides having a seemingly insatiable energy and apparently never getting hungover, Mr. Miszuk takes some beautiful photographs. And all of that basically encompasses everything we like about life in general. We passed the guest-blogging torch along and found another trusted FOK (Friend of Kanon).

Pete took pictures at Sophomore's cocktail party at the Cynthia Rowley pop-up shop in Montauk over the weekend, where the likes of Chrissie Miller, Madeleine von Froomer (both designers of Sophomore), Blue Logan, and Cynthia Rowley herself with her adorable kid were hanging out imbibing Kanon Organic Vodka cocktails mixed by our very own Stefanie Marco and engaging in what looks like a pretty rad hula-hoop contest out front.

If you find yourself walking down Crosby Street, down what is quite possibly the quietest block in Soho, you might see a lot of surfboards and seemingly beach-bound dudes. This is no hallucination. For the past year--exactly one year to be precise--Saturdays Surf NYC has served as the de facto capital of New York City’s surprisingly diverse surf scene. On any given day, you can find Josh, Colin, or Morgan, fresh from a morning surf at Rockaway, hanging out, making espresso, or showing off the latest goods from their eponymous line. Except for this weekend.

We stole them, along with a couple hundred of their very best friends, and hosted Saturdays’ very first anniversary. There were boogie boards careening off diving boards, fresh coconuts spiked with our very own blend, a Beetlejuice-inspired conga line, and a whole host of New York legends (Ricky Powell anyone?) sharing tales about the good old days. All to the legendary sounds of Chances with Wolves. Saturdays in house photographer Colin Tunstall was there to capture it all from day to night with his signature style and aesthetic. Hang ten, kooks.

The first sets of pictures from this weekend's wild Saturdays Surf 1-year anniversary party are rolling in and they look pretty awesome, if we do say so ourselves. These shots come from FOK (Friend of Kanon) and filmmaker/writer Jauretsi Saizarbitoria, who was on hand during the event snapping away for the Saturdays boys.

The party started out at the Saturdays surf shop/coffee shop in SoHo where a bus picked up a load of guests to transport them out to our Southampton house where they were greeted with leis and coconuts filled with potent Kanon Organic Vodka cocktails--a perfect beginning that culminated six hours later in a sunset conga line around the pool set to Beetlejuice's "Jump in Line" led by Saturdays partner Josh Rosen, who was fist-pumping bottles of Kanon in the air against the backdrop of a huge outdoor film screen playing classic surf movie Endless Summer. Sound awesome? It was.

Jauretsi does a darn good job capturing the best moments of the day, including the impromptu diving contest that happened, with each diving trick better than the next. The Saturdays guys actually started surfing boogie boards off the diving board at one point, a spectacle that was accompanied by cheering and howling coming from a group of hot, bikini-clad babes sitting around the pool. Remind us to save that in our bag of tricks.

All in all, it was an epic good time--the drinks were flowing, dancing was nonstop, and the collective of DJs, Chances with Wolves, played an impeccable set of rare gems. Ricky Powell even joined the party, holding court by the pool all afternoon, entertaining guests like Elizabeth Spirodakis from White Lightning and Mikey Palms, owner of South Paw, with stories about old New York.

It doesn't get much better than that.

P.S. Stay tuned for more FOK guest posts from White Lightning, Colin from Saturdays Surf, Shaun Hartas with model Jessica Hart, and more.

  • FOK Guest Blogger: Bronques from Last Night's Party

Yesterday, we hosted a party for Saturdays NYC Surf's 1-year anniversary at our humble abode in Southampton, and just like our 4th of July soiree, it was a blast (to say the least). The Saturdays boys splashed into NYC with their rad beachwear/surf shop/espresso bar/outdoor garden deck experience in SoHo one year ago. They have since built a loyal community of generally awesome customers, friends and Kanon drinkers. Everyone hearts them, and it showed. A bus full of party people came rolling up to the house around 4 PM and by 4:07 PM there were Kanon Organic Vodka drinks served in coconuts, music blasting, people diving into the pool, pigs roasting, and loads of ridiculously attractive folks roaming around making eyes at one another. If you missed it, here's a wink for you..

Since one of those attending happened to be our favorite 'photo instigator' Merlin Bronques, he became a FOK for the weekend (that's Friend of Kanon, for those of you who are new readers). Bronques is the founder and photographer behind Last Night's Party, the infamous website that documents the inner workings of NYC and global nightlife, no matter how debaucherous... Brandt, the bar manager of B'East, did an awesome job mixing those Kanon Organic Vodka cocktails for swarms of thirsty party people like the pro he is. Here, the two recipes we served. Now go ahead and start practicing--the guests at your next party will surely thank you.

    Cucumber Mint Lemonade

    2 oz Kanon Organic Vodka

    1 oz fresh lemonade

Shaken with 3 ripped mint leaves and 2 cucumber slices

Topped with a splash of club soda

    Pineapple Iced Tea

    2 oz Kanon Organic Vodka

As you probably know by now, we’re pretty damn stoked about our epic 4th of July party going down in Southampton this Sunday. But, as much as we’d like to, we can’t take all the credit. We’ve got some party masterminds teaming with us to make our 4th just plain ridiculous. We asked our friends Matt Kliegman, Robyn Berkley, Chrissie Miller, and of course Stefanie Marco to share some of their favorite songs, foods, and vodka cocktails to make sure everyone’s 4th is just as great as ours. Jan Warren's Clooney Cocktail

With all respect to tradition, we’d like to switch things up a bit this 4th of July. Yeah yeah, dads love to dole out the slightly warm, tepid canned beer and it’s hard to say no to an old man in an apron. But we figured we’re all due for an upgrade. That’s why we hit up our friend Jan Levi Warren, from one of our favorite restaurants 10 Downing, to concoct four delicious organic vodka cocktails that don’t necessitate a degree in chemistry to make. Get pops to put down that aluminum…he’ll thank us later.

    Clooney Cocktail
    2 oz Kanon Organic Vodka
    1/4 oz fresh peach puree
    1/2 oz fresh lemon juice
    1/2 oz simple syrup
    3 inches rhubarb stalk
    4 rosemary leaves

Shake well. Garnish with a stalk of rosemary.

    Ginger Bastard
    2 oz Kanon Organic Vodka
    3/4 oz fresh grapefruit juice
    3/4 oz Canton Ginger Cognac
    Garnish with a grapefruit peel.

    Purple Rain
    2 oz Kanon Organic Vodka
    1/2 oz lavendar syrup
    1/2 oz Lillet Blanc apertif
    Garnish with a lemon peel.

    Pink Kanonball
    2 oz Kanon Organic Vodka
    1/2 oz Royal Combier
    3/4 oz Combier Rouge
    1/2 oz fresh lime juice
Shake well with one egg white for at least 1 minute. Top with champagne and bitters.

  • FOK 4th of July: Where Will They Be?

Now we don’t like to brag. I mean, it’s unbecoming to say that we’ll be hosting an awesome party at our Southampton house with the boys from the Smile and Jane Hotel this 4th of July. Nope, we just wouldn’t do that. But we’ll gladly boast about our friends. We have awesome and amazing friends all over the world constantly doing interesting things we’ve never tried in places we’ve never heard of. So, we figured we’d ask around and see what they’re up to this holiday weekend if they aren’t hanging with us (their bad). Unsurprisingly, plans run the gamut from the traditional (BBQs at the beach) to the downright awesome (hanging with Grizzly Bear?). Either way here’s a voyeuristic look into the plans of our good friends. Promise not to stalk them.

Valerie Boster: I’ll be surfing in Sayulita, Mexico with friends Stephanie Paine, Julie Henderson and Samantha August.

Eddie Borgo: Keegan and I are going to be in Amagansett getting some much needed R & R. We are going to our friend’s annual BBQ—so excited to spend time with friends in the country!

Adam Green: I am racing through Europe like a punk rock fireball headed straight to Italy for July 4th. Bologna is my number one city on the planet for extreme fun times and freak-outs. I know this secret river there that you can only access through this girl’s apartment. I’m friends with an Italian vampire/actor who’s coming to celebrate…he broke his fangs on a bagel last time we were feeding. I can’t stop eating clams when I’m thinking about fireworks in America.

Piera Gelardi: I'm going home to Maine for the 4th. My friends from Grizzly Bear are performing at a jam band festival so we'll be hanging with a bunch of Phish heads on the day they perform—should be pretty hilarious. Then for the rest of the weekend we'll be relaxing at our house in Maine  (I'm a native), grilling, swimming, reading tabloids, and playing Hair She Blows—a pun game my friend Ed and I made up.

Ben Pundole: Throwing a 3rd of July party with Ben Watts and Rassi in Montauk.

Andrew Bevan: Lucky's Jenny Kang and I are going to be flying back from Sweden from a trip to visit the WESC headquarters. It's Jenny's birthday so, in spite of what will probably be many consecutive nights out dancing on tables in Stockholm, I'm sure we will be celebrating on our flight back to NY. Upon landing we are apparently taking our jet-lagged selves to see Justin Beiber perform on a boat in New York Harbor during the Macy's 4th of July Fireworks display.

Tommy Saleh: I'm going to be in Calvi, in the Island of Corsica on the beach and attending the Calvi on the Rocks Summer Festival. LCD Sound System is playing live too.

Liz Vap: I will going to the Wiliamsburg Waterfront  to see one of my favourite newly reunited bands Faith No More kick off the concert series there, then off  for some beach time in Milford, CT where my brother lives, then returning to NYC where the fireworks are the greatest for my friend's annual themed White Trash 4th of July Bash!

Becka Diamond: Hanging out at the Kanon Fourth of July party taking lots of pictures!
