If there's one think that might rival our love of vodka, it's our love for fellow Swedes. We jump at any chance to experience a little bit of the homeland in our daily life. So we're excited to bring you a playlist featuring some of Sweden's best music. We had our friends over at The Swede Beat pick out some of their current favorite jams, and boy did they deliver: Over an hour of 100% Swedish Indie music to make any work day fly by. We consider a great playlist to be the backbone of any great party. Case in point, last week’s opening of the new Uniqlo store on 5th Avenue had music from LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy and a live performance by Santigold. Mix those two set of tunes with a delicious Kanon cocktail served at no less than twelve bars in the store (#neverforget), and how could we not have a blast? Diana Miller's Favorite Swedish Jams!

Now that Midsummer has come and gone, we are desperate to relive our favorite holiday however we can. We tried to extend said desire by launching an awesome Midsummer contest on our Facebook page which just ended yesterday (winners to be announced soon!), but now that it’s over, we’re grasping at straws. Since time travel isn't an option, (um it's 2011–we could have sworn we'd be living like the Jetsons by now…) we'll have to resort to other means. Luckily, Diana Miller of I Listen To Everything made us a little playlist to fall back on whenever we start to feel a little homesick. Full of Swedes and sweet tunes, we’ll be taking this playlist into the weekend and beyond.

Matt+Maia's New Year's Eve Playlist

We were getting a little worried that the snow apocalypse was going to force New Year's Eve to cancel itself altogether, but fear not. Our favorite DJ duo Matt+Maia survived through multiple flight cancellations to get to the City in time to party, so party we will. They'll be spinning at two of our favorite NYC spots: Soho Grand and Don Hill's. But the real question is, what will they be playing?

First, a little disclaimer from Matt+Maia: Our list includes old favorites and new hits. Everyone wants to have fun and dance on New Year's Eve so it's important to play songs that people know and love (even if they won't admit it). We are looking forward to being with friends at the Soho Grand and Don Hill's, and ringing in the New Year dancing with our DJ friends and each other!

Now that the Summer's done and Fall is kicked into high gear, everyone, including us over here at Kanon, is gearing up for the holiday season—or the holiday party season to be exact. With that in mind, we're asking our good friends who just happen to be some of the best DJs around what's on their playlists when it comes to throwing a great holiday fete.

First up, FOK (Friend of Kanon) Becka Diamond. Becka's a New York-based DJ who is not only a music obsessive but also enjoys vintage tees and and record collecting.
