We spent the weekend stocked up on the essentials: too many DVR'd episodes of Entourage, friends, and a whole bunch of Kanon to get us through a breezy gal named Irene who decided to roll through town. You may have heard, but New York City survived both an earthquake AND a hurricane this week. So can you blame us for wanting to celebrate the fact that we survived it all, especially on a day (a MONDAY, at that) when the weather is gorgeous outside? Enter: our summer sessions at the Mondrian. Tonight we’re heading to the penthouse of the Soho hotel to celebrate with this week's host Rajni Jacques, also known as the features editor at Glamour Magazine. We asked Rajni a few questions pre-party on all the important issues (you know, cocktails, shoes, and party music).

Want to come get rid of those Monday blues with us tonight? Follow and tweet @Kanonvodka and @MondrianSoho before 3 PM with the hashtag #KanonSummerSessions to get on the list.

Kanon Vodka: What’s the best style advice you¹ve ever received and what’s a piece of advice you would give others?

Rajni Jacques: Best advice: Never wear a look that's straight off the runway and a good tailor is a savior. My advice to others: You are allowed to have "bad" outfit days. You learn from your mistakes.

If you're like us, you start off Monday counting down till Thursday. And thank god it's finally here. There's mere hours left until we kick off the weekend early on the rooftop of the Hudson Hotel. And even more good news...the weather man is wrong again. It's looking like clear skies and sun tonight (with hopefully a great sunset in store), which is all the more reason to pour yourself a Kanon cocktail with this week's special host, cookbook author and Top Chef alum Candice Kumai. Thanks to her food, health, and lifestyle expertise, recovering from a late night out is a piece of cake. As the co-host of the Lifetime hit Cook Yourself Thin and chef contributor on shows like the Cooking Channel's Unique Eats and TLC's Home Made Simple, it's hard to believe that the former fit model has any free time. Soon to come, Candice will also be featured as a guest judge on the upcoming season of Iron Chef America. Oh wait, and did we mention she just published a health inspired cookbook, Pretty Delicious? Yep. Busy, busy woman. Luckily for us, Candice took some time to chat about throwing a good party and what it feels like to be a new New Yorker from LA.

But before you keep reading, make sure to RSVP for the party tonight. All you have to do is follow and tweet at both @kanonvodka and @hudsonNYC with the hashtag #kanonskyterrace before 3 PM and you'll be added to our guest list. See you there!

    1. You know we love to throw a good party. Are there any apps in particular from your cookbook that you'd recommend serving at a cocktail soiree?

Absolutely. The Fuji Apple Crab Cakes are crisp and hand-held bites that make for massive socializing! Love plating these on real shells and topped with my Greek yogurt and chive sauce. I also love serving up my Creamy Tomato Soup with a mini grilled gruyere cheese bite in small shot glasses or martini glasses. Another favorite is my TDF (that's to die for) Sliders with caramelized onions and mushrooms with a homemade smoky honey bbq sauce and a side of my Bevery Hills Fries... these and many more tasty mini bites and munchies can all be found in the most stylish book of course…

It’s Thursday and you know what that means- it’s time for the Hudson Sky Terrace! This week we’ll be joined by one of our favorite FOKs, Merlin Bronques from Last Night’s Party. When he’s not making nights memorable, he’s the one capturing it all on film answering the question “where were you last night?” Thank goodness for him, sometimes we need actual documentation of those crazy nights out on the town. He’s made some pretty amazing videos for us including our Coachella video- watch it and we swear you’ll be making plans for the music festival faster than Bronques’ camera shutter.

Speaking of fast- it's easy to RSVP each week. Every Thursday, all you have to do is tweet @kanonvodka and @hudsonNYC with the hashtag #kanonskyterrace before 3 PM and we’ll put you on the list.

Tomorrow when we’re asked where we were last night, we’ll tell them we were overlooking the Hudson and sipping a Kanon cocktail- not too shabby, we think.

    1. If you weren't a nightlife photographer/videographer, what would you be doing?
I would be trying to figure out how to be a nightlife photographer/videographer and make it a career.

    2. You're quite the expert when it comes to parties. What's the most memorable one you've ever been to?
People that party a lot are usually jaded. They sometimes don't even notice when an amazing party is happening right around them. That said, I always feel like the best parties are just ahead of me. Otherwise, why even go out?

    3. Best part about your job?
1.The archives of photos I have that no one has seen... (yet)
    2. Going to a place I've never been every few weeks.
    3. Knowing that most of my friends are so talented that I'm just documenting their rise to stardom.

    4. What's the last thing that made you say "I love New York"?
After traveling so much in the last 6 months, getting back and seeing that an ordinary night in NYC still beats special nights, anniversaries, openings, and closings from everywhere I've been in the world.

    Naag.com's Fiona Byrne

Last week Mother Nature had other plans for our Hudson Sky Terrace party- namely, to rain it out and force our post-work drinks to head indoors. But this week, the sun is out, the drinks will be flowing, and we’ve got a great host for tonight who we think you'll like…a lot. We first celebrated with Fiona Byrne from Naag.com at the launch for her website (that she co-founded with Agyness Deyn) back in October, and now we’re teaming up again for tonight’s Sky Terrace rooftop soiree. To get you even more excited for tonight, we chatted with Fiona to find out a few new things about the New Yorker– including her summer plans, must-haves and more.

Oh– and if you’re keen on coming tonight, tweet @kanonvodka and @hudsonNYC with the hashtag #kanonskyterrace before 3 PM and we’ll put you on the list. Easy, right? Happy tweeting and happy drinking– that’s what we’re all about.

    1. If you could jet off to any summer destination right now, where would you go?
Preferably some place that doesn't involve a jet. So tired of airports! It's so much easier to just get in a car and go to a New York beach. The Hamptons beaches are so pretty AND you can bring full sized products without checking luggage. Love that.

    2. What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?
Stop worrying. 90% of the stuff you worry about will never actually happen, so what is the point? Anyway, no matter what happens you will handle it. It's really important to remind ourselves of that.
