  • The Kanon Music Festival Pool Parties Relived

The only thing better than going to a really awesome party is reliving it on film. We recruited one of our favorite video-masters Rony, of Rony's Photobooth, to capture our music festival adventures. Seriously, has a pool party ever looked so good? Our friends are pretty gorgeous. Check it out + get in a summer frame of mind. (link to video)

Just before music festival madness hits, we're taking one last look back at our music festival rendezvous at Winter Music Conference in Miami. We think our friend Rony of Rony's Photobooth captured the weekend pretty nicely, don't you think? Check out the video above to get in that happy-go-lucky music minded mood before the weekend. • In From Norway: Kanon and Nudie Jeans Celebrate Organic

At Kanon we love all things Swedish and organic (obviously), so when we launched Kanon in our neighboring country of Norway, we decided to team up with Nudie Jeans who have been pioneering the organic jeans market since 2001. They also happen to be in the process of making their entire line organic and sustainable in 2012. Together with fashion store SOLO, we turned Oslo city into Sweden for a night with more denim and drinks than you could ever need.

We sat down with Andreas Åhrman from Nudie and asked the fellow organic Swede to tell us about how their team is set on making the denim business green.

KV: When did you start making organic jeans?

AÅ: Ever since the company was founded in 2001, we’ve had a vision of completely organic collections. Over the years we have worked to fulfill this vision by gradually increasing the share of organic garments up to this point, where the entire 2012 collection is now organic including all pocket linings, buttons--even rivets are made from organic raw materials as well.

KV: So how is organic cotton different?

AÅ: In order for cotton to be organically certified, the fields where it is farmed must be totally free from pesticides for a period of three years. The entire process at the denim producer--the spinning, dyeing and finishing of the yarn for our organic jeans--is also carried out in accordance with organic procedures.

  • Last Night's Party's Fashion Therapy

Looking back on the year of endless parties, fuzzy memories, and tons of delicious cocktails, it's hard to pinpoint some of our favorite moments.

Luckily for us, we have some talented FOKs in our midst that take care of capturing the nights for a living. Sweet job, right? Case in point – this video by our friend Bronques of Last Night's Party gives his take on New York Fashion Week. From drinking Kanon with Tyler The Creator at Alexander Wang's epic after-party to taking in show after fashion show (think Jeremy Scott and Charlotte Ronson) and cocktail after cocktail, Bronques was there to make sure we could relive every last awesome moment. He even made sure we were plugged into the Iceland Fashion Festival.

As the video says, "anywhere there's models, there's Jared Leto" – and anytime there's awesome cocktails, there's Kanon.

  • Relive Art Basel with This Awesome Video From Morgans Hotel Group

Need a little pick-me-up on this we're-only-mid-way-through-the-week-Wednesday? We've got you covered. Our awesome friends at the Morgans Hotel Group – aka the team behind your favorite hotels like The Delano and The Mondrian – put together some footage showcasing their perspective on the week that we can't completely remember, but will never forget: Art Basel. Be prepared for lots of dancing, drinking and a bit of booty shaking in the video above. Cheers!

  • In From Sweden: Chef Per Morberg Samples Kanon

    Vad_blir_det_f_r_mat_10pi

    Per Morberg

In the U.S., we often use our downtime to catch up on some good ole Giada or Bobby Flay. But when it comes to Swedish food personalities, Per Morberg is the go-to man. With his show "Den Stora Matresan," Morberg bops around the Swedish country taste-testing local specialties and recipes along the way – a pretty awesome job if you ask us. And this week, the show got even better, as the chef paid us a visit in Åkers Styckebruk, home to the Gripsholm Distillery where Kanon Vodka is produced. If you can't understand Swedish, well then our apologies in advance. But we think it's just as entertaining watching Morberg stick his nose in a shot glass of Kanon. No?

  • Learn How to Make an Honestly WTF Cocktail

We can do a lot of things. We can throw a great party, we can speak Swedish, we can host an amazing (rain-filled) brunch. When it comes to DIY-ing though, we tend to look to some of our fave FOKs for inspiration (thank god we've got such creative friends.) Erin Chan Coffman and Lauren Kolodny of Honestly WTF, the blog that has DIY-ing on lock, are our go-tos when it comes to getting crafty.

  • Man Repelling S/S 2012 Fashion Week

Man Repelling is an art form--something that must be taught by a master and honed to perfection. Good thing we've tapped The Man Repeller herself, veteran FOK Leandra Medine, to give us a rundown of her ways. We were alongside Leandra this Fashion Week, as she got dressed in the morning, prepared for the Alexander Wang and Charlotte Ronson shows, took in presentations (and designer-inspired cocktails, obviously) at MILK Studios, and got her glowstick on at the frat-tastic Alexander Wang after party. So look onwards, Kanon drinkers, and see for yourself what it really feels like to be in the caped shoes of The Man Repeller.

  • Here's Your Chance to Relive Sweden's Way Out West Festival

If pictures are worth a thousand words, then this Way Out West footage is worth, well, probably a million. We showed you a glimpse of our time at the famous Swedish music festival through photos, but we think this film produced by Fashion Networks captures the vibe of the festival like nothing else. From Robyn to Kanye to Kanon cocktails being sipped on by a ridiculously gorgeous crowd (what else would you expect from Swedes?), we’re reliving the magical weekend of performances through this equally awesome video. • Celebrating Stockholm Pride at Trädgården

If you haven’t noticed by now, we love any cause for a celebration. And we have just as much fun in Sweden as we do in the States (you haven't really seen people party until you've watched the Swedes in action –trust us). Our most recent reason to celebrate? Stockholm Pride. Set at outdoor hotspot, Trädgården, we danced and rubbed elbows with a beautiful high-energy crowd that kept the party going strong into the night.

There was dancing, shots of yours truly, LOTS of making out, delicious cocktails, and well, you can see the rest for yourself in the video above. Check out our night celebrating Stockholm Pride Festival–kind of makes you want to book a flight to Sweden, no?

  • Face Hunter Takes Montauk

When you've had too much fun partying (if there is such a thing) on any given night, and things start to get a bit fuzzy, it’s always helpful to have great photog friends around who you can count on to document things–for better or worse. And like we’ve always said, our FOKs are a talented bunch. Enter Yvan Rodic, perhaps better known as Face Hunter, whose blog of seriously gorgeous people and good times realized is on our docket of daily reads.

Yvan may be a European transplant, but you wouldn’t know that from the crazy amount of American flags he surrounded himself with on 4th of July weekend in Montauk when he documented our unforgettable weekend for “The Face Hunter Show.” Between visits with friends like Ben Pundole and Ben Watts before their Shark Attack Soundz party at Rick’s Crabby Cowboy Café (where the best looking crowd we’ve ever seen danced for hours, Kanon in hand) and hanging with Scott Lipps at his home in "HamptonBridge" (as Yvan calls it) to our sundown party at Ruschmeyer’s, Yvan’s Montauk tour already has us planning our next trip. Check out his video here–but be warned. It’ll make you start strategizing excuses to ditch work in favor of flagging down the next Jitney outta town.

  • We're In A Music Video!

It's one thing to see bottles of Kanon behind the bar at our favorite spots in NY and LA. Think extreme feelings of joy and pride every time a bartender grabs our bottle off the shelf to make a cocktail for someone. Today we got to feel that again just by sitting in front of our computers (yes, sometimes we do normal work).

For those of you who are on the pulse of music, you probably already saw this morning's release of our FOK Lykke Li's latest music video for "Sadness is a Blessing." What could be better than adding another Lykke Li song to our playlist rotations? Well, how about spotting a bottle of Kanon making its musical debut alongside the Swedish songstress? We're no longer limiting ourselves to taking over one bar at a time. We're ready to conquer the big screen.

Check out Lykke Li's new vid, and of course, Kanon's cameo (at the 0:47 mark...not that we have it memorized or anything). Sadness might be a blessing, but a few shots of Kanon are equally so.

  • Sustainable Shopping with Bryanboy and Rumi Neely

While we are firm believers in the power of cocktails and good times, we're also all about the power of going green. Not to toot our own horn or anything, but one of the best things about us is that we're 100% organic and sustainable as well. And if we can get some of our friends and FOKs to get a little greener too? Well that’s just the icing on top of the (organic) cake.

Case in point: we recently encouraged FOKs Bryanboy and Rumi Neely of fashiontoast to give us their own take on sustainability. Their destination of choice: the mecca of vintage fashion, Soho's What Goes Around Comes Around. Check out the video to learn more from Bryan and Rumi about why wearing people's old clothes is one of the coolest ways to look new again.

  • What You Missed From Our Bryanboy Livestream

Launching a livestream of Bryanboy during Fashion Week has its pros and cons. While it's a genius idea in theory and the perfect week to find the blogger in his fabulous element, it's also the week when most people who would care about watching a Bryanboy livestream are too busy to do so. So busy in fact, that even stealing away moments to procrastinate during your lunch break is impossible, because well, you probably didn't get a lunch break. So without rambling on further, this post is dedicated to those who missed out on the sheer silliness the first time around. You didn't think we would do a livestream without recording all the best moments, did you? Pour yourself a glass of Kanon, and enjoy!

  • Facehunter Takes Manhattan Part 2

Longtime friend of Kanon Yvan Rodic, also known as The Facehunter, and W recently launched part two of his video series on their site. Last week, we gave you a peek at his day spent in SoHo searching for The One, and now in part two he's ventured to the Meatpacking to see what style and unexpected beauty he can find on the nearly empty cobblestone streets. Rodic even stopped by one of our favorite spots, the Jane Hotel, for a night out with Kanon. "That's the beauty of what I do and the romantic side of the hunting; you never know what's going to happen. Finally after hours and hours, you find the most beautiful person in the world," Rodic says. So does he find this in the end? Well, you'll just have to see for yourself.

  • Watch Now: Facehunter Takes Manhattan

What can we say? It's Monday and nothing we could say makes that any better. But we'll definitely try to ease the pain with a bit of entertainment to distract you from the fact that you most likely spent the day sober and working. On a holiday. Featured on the site Nowness, "Facehunter Takes Manhattan" follows our well-coiffed FOK, style photog Yvan Rodic (a.k.a. Facehunter), doing what he does best – tracking down style on the streets of Manhattan.

Directed by fellow FOK, Alexander Klein, the film gives us a peek behind the lens and shows Yvan in his natural habitat. Perhaps our favorite part: the short film follows Facehunter to a Kanon dinner at The Fat Radish, one of the most memorable nights we spent with friends in 2010. There's even a couple cameos from two of our favorites, Steven Rojas and Chrissie Miller – and yours truly, of course. And we never turn down a well-placed cameo.

  • OH MY GOD. We're Livestreaming Bryanboy for Fashion Week!

For those who hung out with us during last Fashion Week, you probably saw Bryanboy on our blog in all of his head-to-toe leopard glory working his hypothetical catwalk, hair flip and all. Well, ladies and gents...he's back. In real time. On February 16, starting at 9 AM, watch Bryanboy as he becomes the first blogger to be livestreamed for the web right here on Kanonvodka.com. That deserves a pretty big, OMG, right? Might have to get a cocktail ready for this one, people. Who knows what he'll do.

We're often telling you this and that about how awesome our Kanon cocktails are. Those of you who've tried them know they're amazing. But what about the rest of you? Still need convincing? • Bryan Boy: Night Out with Kanon

If there was ever anyone that embodied the flair and fierce persona of fashion week, it's one of our favorite bloggers, Bryan Grey-Yambao or Bryan Boy. The blogging phenomenon has taken over the streets of New York (decked out in head-to-toe leopard Spring 2011 Givenchy, of course), running around the city with and meeting the who's-who of fashion (i.e. Terry Richardson, Scott Schuman, et al).

  • The Rapture Performs "House of Jealous Lovers"

Everyone agrees that cake is pretty damn tasty… but there’s nothing like icing. For us, The Rapture was the icing on our proverbial cake this past weekend. For most people, who’ve seen the band play in sweaty clubs or huge arenas, seeing them go off on our amazing pool deck whilst jumping into a crystal clear pool was an experience that will pretty much define the summer of 2010.

But like all highs there’s a come down, so we didn’t let our friends go home empty handed. After stuffing themselves with tacos and Kanon cocktails our guests went home with gift bags courtesy of Burt’s Bees… perfect for treating those newly minted suntans. We don’t ever wanna come down.

If you’ve ever found yourself at an address or intersection below, oh lets say 20th Street, there’s a good chance you’ve spotted one of Pamela Love’s pieces walking by you. Not that it’s insulated in the downtown set, Love’s pieces transcend skinny jeans, cigarettes, and all the other clichés associated with people who don’t live on the Upper East Side. She sees herself as a local designer, working with her own hands. Here, we have the opportunity to see Love how she sees herself, via one of Kanon’s favorite NYC filmmakers, Jenna Elizabeth. • Drinking with The Rapture

“House of Jealous Lovers” is a classic song. One that will immediately be associated with downtown New York in the early 21st century, right along with The Strokes or LCD Soundsystem. There was no jealousy (we think) at the Kanon house this past weekend. Thus, The Rapture’s rendition of their classic was more laced with irony than a literal interpretation.

Not much jealousy when there’s great music, food, Kanon cocktails, and a rad diving board. That’s pretty simple. In a good way. Also simple in a good way, Stefanie Marco’s Kanon summer cocktail that you can make in less time than one good Rapture song… as she demonstrates here, and as the boys in the band attest to. Also, looks of really good looking people.

  • A New York Summer by Trendland

Our friends at Trendland stopped by The Kanon Summer House to chill poolside, sip cocktails, and shoot the summer style.  Here is what Ani had to say:

As NY Fashion Week quickly approaches and schools are back in session, we are faced with the sad but true fact that summer is coming to another sweet end. So with that in mind we are prepared to give these last few weekends everything we got! Last weekend we bid a sweet farewell to one our most cherished NY weekend summer getaways : The Hamptoms.

The weekend was ... well you should have been there, its the only way you could understand, why summer in NY is just the best. We got to the beach in south hampton just before noon, with 2 cars and 10 of our friends, greased up and soaked the rays for a few hours. around 3:00 we decided to head over the Kanon vodka house to continue poolside with cocktails and see the Rapture perform, only to realize that our friend with the second car had taken off to go surf in Montauk without telling anyone. So here we were 9 people and one sorry ass rental, at least 25 minutes from where we needed to be. FUN TIMES! ill spare you those details though. So as it may have been our last summer pool party I got nostalgic and had to take the opportunity to shoot some Hamptons summer style and find out from everyone what their take on "A New York Summer" was. Here is what we got!

  • About Kanon Organic Vodka

If you’ve noticed HBO acting just a bit quirkier this season, it’s because of the Neistat Brothers and their show called, well, “Neistat Brothers.” Creative, quirky and all kinds of other adjectives like that. Casey Neistat came out to Sweden with us (for Midsummer, naturally) and put together one of his unmistakable shorts conveying everything that Kanon Organic Vodka is (think: quality, green, good people, and more).

From founder and owner Peter Hjelm to creative director and cocktail master Stefanie Marco, Casey covers it all with his signature style. Genius. At work. For us. Thank you.

  • Midsummer Eve with Street Carnage

It’s been quite the ride but today brings us the last of FOK Pinky’s video installments from Sweden. For his curtain call, Pinky doesn’t even need to say a word. It’s Midsummer Eve and, as you can see, music, dancing, cocktails, and more have taken over.

Like Pinky himself, it’s an understated and sublime glimpse at the greatest of Swedish holidays. We get the feeling sometime in December, when snow is thick on the ground and the sun makes only brief appearances, we’ll turn this on and remember the sweet taste of summer.

  • Midsummer Moments with Street Carnage

Pinky’s back on the case for Kanon. This time, to get to the bottom and find the pure essence of Swedish Midsummer. Shockingly, Pinky grills several statuesque blondes on their knowledge of the roots of the holiday, which is supposedly harvesting and planting crops. Perhaps things have changed since the first Midsummer and the meaning of this holiday has evolved. But from the looks of the official launch party for Kanon Organic Vodka, evolution is a good thing.

  • Midsummer Moments with Street Carnage

This week, Pinky is back with some hard-hitting journalism for Kanon straight from Sweden's Midsummer parties. And what says party more than a Metal band. And who loves metal more than aristocrats. Well, maybe they aren't really synonymous but it's just the kind of craziness Pinky was enlisted to discover after months of darkness.

Unsurprisingly, he captured some of the most organic beauties in the world falling under the spell of our favorite organic vodka in the world. The view looks great, and our good friend is pretty much speechless, as are we.

  • Midsummer Adventures: Swedish Girls by Street Carnage

Here at Kanon we’ve enjoyed our fair share of amazing Midsummer parties. And while we’re more than happy to sit back and enjoy ourselves at this annual solstice soiree, we really wanted to freshly experience Midsummer through the eyes of a few of our favorite FOKs. Yes, we’ve raised the maypole a few times in our lives, but we wanted to share the day with some Midsummer virgins.

One of our favorite virgins (Midsummer that is) is Beau Derrick aka Pinky of TV Carnage. Thankfully for us, he took time out from directing music videos for the likes of Crystal Castles and making Adult Swim specials (garnering praise from the likes of Johnny Knoxville and Michael Cera. Oh and The New York Times) to head out to Sweden and experience first-hand the madness that is Midsummer. Also lucky for us, Pinky brought his camera along and lent his unique voice and talents to documenting all that went down. One more lucky for us- his first short focuses on the all important question, “Just why are Swedish girls so ugly?” Many examples of this geographic anomaly are given. Thank you, Pinky. We think further research into this is a must.
